Madeline Knapp

Student Therapist (She/Her)

I believe each person has a natural tendency towards healing. I hope to create an empowering, trauma-informed space where you can learn how to tap into your innate resilience, build confidence, and develop internal security.

 Madeline Knapp Disclosure Statement

I am currently pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a postgraduate certification in Trauma Informed Care at George Fox University.

I believe every person has an innate drive to become the best, most authentic version of themselves. Unfortunately, many of us experience stressful, even traumatic, events that can feel like they dim or overshadow our inner light. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where you can learn about yourself and tap into your innate healing capabilities.

My approach to therapy is built on a Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed Foundation, where your story is honored and treated with sensitivity. Upon this foundation, I tailor my approach to each unique individual using a variety of modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family System (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Feminist Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and insights from Neuroscience.

I hold a multicultural and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming perspective that honors autonomy and acknowledges that you are the expert of your own story. I welcome adults navigating trauma, abuse, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship concerns, family-of-origin issues, and more. I believe your story is worth being told, and that you are worthy of care.
