I love the process of connecting alongside clients and hearing their stories while offering them tools, encouragement and hope to feel empowered.
Megan Eaton Disclosure Statement
Hello! I’m Megan Eaton, a graduate student at Grand Canyon University, completing my degree in Clinical Mental Health with an Emphasis in Child and Adolescent Disorders. I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity to be an intern at A Better Way Counseling Agency! My passion for counseling started when I sought therapy 21 years ago seeking help to cope with early career stress. Having an empathetic ear listen to me was helpful in and of itself, not to mention the effective strategies given. I had never felt relief like that and knew one day I wanted to offer the same to others.
When it comes to counseling, my goal is to provide an environment where you feel comfortable laying out your struggles and together, we collaborate to reach your goals. My experience includes working with elementary-aged children in and outside of school with multiple disabilities. I have a passion for helping children and teens learn to advocate for themselves in addition to supporting them in all their developmental stages, successes and challenges. Additionally, I work with adult individuals, supporting them and connecting them to the tools which will help them thrive, while capitalizing on their own innate strengths and resources. In therapy, I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and solution-focused therapy.
