Kat MacKenzie
Student Therapist (She/Her)
As a therapist, I am most drawn to person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapeutic modalities but I am constantly learning and growing as a practitioner and am willing to explore whatever techniques may be most appropriate for the client's needs. Ultimately, my goal is to partner with you to enhance your mental and emotional well-being in the ways that are most meaningful to you.
Kat MacKenzie Disclosure Statement
I decided to pursue a career in clinical social work after years of working in non-profits and social justice organizations, primarily in advocacy and crisis response for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. That work taught me the healing power of collaborative relationships as well as how to actively listen, stay curious, and recognize that every person is an expert on their own life experiences. That work also showed me the toll trauma can take on a person’s life, health, and sense of well-being. In the pursuit of my degree and clinical licensure, I have dedicated myself to acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to help clients navigate and heal from trauma in a healthy and affirming way.
