Hanako Baxter

Student Therapist (She/Her)

I believe every individual has their own unique process of healing and growth. Wherever you may be on your life journey, together we can create a space where your story is honored and explore what works for you.

Hanako Baxter Disclosure Statement

I am currently pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University.

My overall approach to therapy is Person-Centered/Existential, rooted in the belief that every individual has an innate drive to become their best, authentic self. Throughout life, we may find ourselves stymied or stuck for an infinite number of reasons; whether it be because of past or present circumstances, certain experiences, or how we learned to exist in our environments. I believe that you are the expert on your own life – even if it may not feel like it. To me, the therapeutic process is about finding ways to become integrated, whole, and to live more authentically as yourself.

Depending on what is presented in counseling, my goal is to meet you where you are and tailor my approach to your needs. I take an integrative approach, drawing from different modalities such as CBT, DBT, IFS, and incorporate mindfulness and somatic awareness.
