Mason Rivera

Student Therapist (she/her)

Disclosure Statement

Mason Rivera is a Student Intern in the state of Washington.

I approach therapy with the belief that everyone is inherently valid and worthy of acceptance and respect. I believe that we are all capable of growth, change, and healing. We sometimes just need connection and support to reach our goals. I show up authentically and invite others to do the same.

I do not believe that counseling is a one-size-fits-all process. Because of this, I take an integrative approach to counseling, drawing from a range of techniques and theories. I practice primarily from a person-centered approach, drawing also from Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It is also important to me that we work within your worldview and work collaboratively to help you achieve your goals.

I maintain the belief that everyone is inherently valid and worthy of acceptance and respect, with the right and ability to grow, change, and heal. I strive to facilitate this journey by providing a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment that encourages clients to reach their desired goals and live more freely. You are the expert on your story and experiences; it is my responsibility and honor to come alongside you in this growth journey as a helper.

I work from a non-shame response and provide my clients with empathy, openness, and respect. I believe that meaningful connection, authenticity, and respect are at the heart of change and healing. I show up in the therapy room authentically and will invite you to do the same!
