Tina Powell Disclosure

Tina Powell is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington, and a National Certified Counselor.

As an individual counselor and a member of collaborative therapeutic teams, I have provided various types of individual and group counseling services since 2005. In individual counseling, I treat various types of Bipolar, Post Traumatic Stress, Adjustment, Anxiety, and Depression disorders as well as most general counseling issues. I have worked extensively with multiculturally, diverse adults and at-risk youth and their families who have experienced traumas. It should be noted that I work with abuse, neglect, abandonment, domestic violence, hospitalizations, and incarcerations. I use various cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic techniques. Along with these methods, I help clients discover how conscious and unconscious thoughts impact emotions, behavior, and mental health.

In addition, I draw from other counseling theories to better meet each client’s individual needs. I have a clinical mental health educational background and experience working from historical counseling theories. My clinical training is the foundation for the assessment, diagnostic, and Mental Health Evaluation services I provide to individual clients and community agencies. I have facilitated and led Aggression Control Workshops and weekly Domestic Violence and Anger Management groups. Additionally, I am supportive of Clark County Therapeutic Specialty Courts such as Mental Health Court, Substance Abuse Court, and Veterans Court.

I am passionate about deinstitutionalization, decriminalization, and social justice for persons experiencing mental distress. My specialized studies in forensic psychology, fieldwork in Clark County specialty courts, and forensic counseling are foundational strengths that support my work with clients involved in the civil and criminal legal and correctional systems.
